Terminology: AGL

AGL – Above Ground level. In aviation is the altitude measured to the underlying ground surface that the aircraft is flying over.

MSL in comparison is the altitude measure based on mean sea level.

AGL is often used with SFOCs when referencing the max allowable altitude permitted to operate within.
