Terminology: IMU

IMU –  Inertial Measurement Unit.  The IMU is an electronic device used in most modern UAV flight controllers which measures and reports the aircraft’s velocity and orientation using a collection of sensors – accelerometers, gyroscopes, and sometimes magnetometers.  It works by detecting changes in pitch/yaw/roll and is used in conjunction with the core flight controller logic to control the aircraft.
