Terminology: kv

kv – As it relates to brushless motors commonly used in electric UAVs, is the RPMs of the motor per volt, on the unloaded motor (ie with no prop attached).  The higher the kv the higher the RPM.

For example, a 300kv motor will turn at 7560 RPM on a 25.2V 6S LIPO at it’s full voltage.  As the voltage drops over the run of the battery so to will the effective RPM.
